Tinkler expecting Chiefs backlash

Cape Town - Maritzburg United head coach Eric Tinkler is wary of a Kaizer Chiefs outfit he believes will be desperate for revenge.

The Team of Choice are unbeaten against Amakhosi this season after beating them in the semi-final of the Telkom Knockout competition in November and earning a credible draw in their first league encounter of the season in December.

Chiefs, on the other hand, are having a season to remember and are flying high at the top of the Premiership having lost just two league fixtures all campaign.

They are not used to losing and Tinkler believes they will be champing at the bit to set the record straight against one of the few teams who has got the better of them this season.

"We've had a good result against them of late, but they are going to be specially prepared against us and obviously we will have to up our game. Even more from our previous game that we played against them." he said, according to KickOff.

However, Tinkler is also confident his side has more than enough about themselves to repeat the upset they caused in the Telkom Knockout semi-final.

"The confidence and morale is high, the mood is good, which is what you want, but it's very important that there's a job to be done in what will be a very, very difficult game against Chiefs," he said.
