Tinkler, Comitis hit out at Mosimane

Cape Town - Cape Town City FC head coach Eric Tinkler has said Mamelodi Sundowns mentor Pitso Mosimane should go through the “proper channels” when approaching players.

The Citizens have enjoyed a successful season particularly due to their attack minded players such as Aubrey Ngoma, Lebogang Manyama and Bhongolwethu Jayiya.

City are currently third place and were one of three teams chasing the PSL title but recent defeats to Maritzburg United and SuperSport United squashed their chances of securing a first league title.

Throughout the current campaign, Mosimane has been a huge admirer of Manyama, speaking highly of the club captain.

Rumours have surfaced that Sundowns head coach has shown interest in signing Manyama but City boss Comitis has said that the forward is not for sale.

Tinkler has finally hit out at Mosimane for his comments made in the media about luring Manyama to Chloorkop.

“Pitso talks too much,” said Tinkler as quoted by KickOff website.

“Pitso should rather go through the proper channels than through the media and also through the players if interested in our players.”

Meanwhile, Comitis admits that Mosimane’s comments is unacceptable and will release a statement as soon as possible.

“I will make comments tomorrow in the media regarding Pitso and his approach to players,” Comitis told KickOff.

“I think it's out of order. We have no problem with people showing interest in our players, we accept that. We know that we have good players that other clubs would want. There is procedure and a process to do.”
