Tinkler: Bucs can compete with 'Downs

Cape Town - Orlando Pirates coach Eric Tinkler believes his team's quality is on par with Mamelodi Sundowns ahead of their clash on Wednesday.

The Brazilians have been unstoppable this season after storming to the top of the Premiership table after 13 wins, three draws and two losses.

The Buccaneers, meanwhile, have had an inconsistent season after six wins, five draws and six losses.

Despite the contrast in form, Tinkler feels that Pirates will be able to hold their own against the high-flying Brazilians at the Orlando Stadium.

"It's going to be a tough game, we know that. They are in good form at the moment, but no team in this league is unbeatable," Tinkler told KickOff.

"Everybody is beatable, that has been proven time and time again. What is important is who pitches up on the day. If we come there highly motivated and play the way we know we can play I believe we can take three points from them.

"Truth be told, they are having a very good season, been winning games convincingly.

"The way they start games is very impressive, they play with a high intensity and try to kill the game as quick as possible. We need to be alert."
