Tinkler: Biggest game of my career

Cape Town - Orlando Pirates coach Eric Tinkler admits that the CAF Confederation Cup final is the biggest game of his coaching career.

The Buccaneers face Tunisian side Etoile du Sahel in the two-leg final with the first set to be held on Saturday, November 21 at the Orlando Stadium.

According to Orlando Pirates' official Twitter account, Tinkler says that there is no motivation needed as this could be his only opportunity to win a continental cup as a coach.

“This is the biggest game of my coaching career,” said Tinkler.

“This could be my only opportunity to win a continental cup; motivation is there.”

Tinkler went on to explain the feeling of lifting the AFCON with Bafana Bafana in 1996 and how to cope with the pressure as a player performing in a Cup final.

“When I won AFCON as a player I didn't realise how special it was. In hindsight it has been good because that was the only one,” said the Sea Robbers coach.

“Winning the Confed Cup will be very special too because it’s a continental cup. They are always special.

“There is always going to be pressure in this game. I've had all the ups & downs as a player so I know the drill.

“I've been relegated, I've been hired, I've been fired, I've won, I've lost...this is part of the game & I get it.

“The important thing is to rise when you are down & do the best to stay at the top when you are there. Remain humble in it.”

Kick-off is at 20:00.
