Tinkler's Pirates job safe, says agent

Cape Town - Eric Tinkler's agent, Vasili Katz, has rubbished reports that his client is on the verge of being axed from his position as Orlando Pirates coach.

The pressure on Tinkler has intensified after the Buccaneers lost 2-1 on aggregate to Etoile du Sahel in the CAF Confederation Cup final last weekend.

Having committed all their energies to the continental competition, the former Wits assistant coach has also been under fire for Pirates' poor domestic form.

Katz insists that Tinkler will be on the bench in their next game against Mamlodi Sundowns on December 20.

"As far as I'm concerned there is no change. Eric is still the coach of Orlando Pirates and he will continue preparing the team for their next game," Katz told The Sowetan.

"There have been no discussions with Pirates. Of course, a number of jobs have opened up recently in the PSL and, of course, there will be speculation linking Eric to those."
