Reports suggest Sundowns are still considering a bid of around R50 million for Tau from Premier League club Brighton and Hove Albion.
The 24-year-old has been the brightest light in South African football over the previous season for club and country, and his performances earned him the PSL Footballer of the Year award for 2017/18.
Nonetheless, negotiations are reportedly at an advanced stage for the forward to move to England, and Zwane takes the view that it is the perfect time for any deal to take place.

Speaking to KickOff website, the 28-year-old said: "Personally, I feel it's time for him to go. I feel he's done a lot for the team, he has shown that he's ready to play overseas.
"The way he plays, you can see he has matured and I think he can still go and learn more that side and improve his football to another level.
"In football, these things happen and we need to adjust. We still have other players in those positions, so obviously we will cope."
