Cape Town - Baroka FC CEO Morgan Mammila revealed that suspended coach Kgoloko Thobejane failed to show up for his DC hearing on Wednesday.
The club is now reportedly scheduling another hearing for Thobejane, who allegedly drank on the team bus after a 2-0 loss to Free Stars Stars at Goble Park on February 3.
"The coach did not pitch up for the hearing yesterday," said Mammila, according to KickOff.
"He called the team today. The club will set a new date for the meeting."
Captain Olaleng Shaku and Puskas Award nominee Oscarine Masuluke have already been sacked by Baroka after reportedly being involved in the incident, with Letladi Madubanya taking the armband from the former.
Commenting on the release of the players, club chairman Khurishi Mphahlele said: "We had to release them, but I can’t tell you why. If I tell you, then they won’t be able to find work.”
Assistant coach MacDonald Makhubedu has taken charge of Bakgaga in a caretaker capacity following Thobejane's suspension. He has staked his claim for a full-time promotion, guiding them to wins against Platinum Stars and Cape Town City and draws against Chippa United and Polokwane City.
Baroka sit sixth in the league ahead of their mid-table clash with Bidvest Wits at the Bidvest Stadium on Friday at 20:00.
