Polokwane - Following their F.A.M.E Charity Cup triumph last weekend, Baroka FC head coach Kgoloko Thobejane said he understood why his strikers failed to break the deadlock in the final against Kaizer Chiefs despite creating plenty of goal scoring opportunities.
The newly PSL promoted side defeated the Amakhosi 3-0 on penalties to claim the inaugural off-season spectacle, after the game ended goalless at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday.
Thobejane hinted that missing clear cut chances is a global challenge and it does not mean players lack potential but it requires an understanding and patience from the coach on the side lines.
“In a game of football, missing chances is a challenge not a problem,” insisted Thobejane.
“When you play football you must know that you can score one goal and missed 20 chances.
“It doesn’t level the player missing chances as someone who lacks potential and you cannot put all the blame on him.
“There are too many things that pressurises these guys to make mistakes on the field.
“Football need coaches who are cool enough to understand that players don’t intend to make mistakes, it just happens.”
