Thobejane confident of survival

Polokwane- With three Absa Premiership games remaining, relegation threatened Baroka FC assistant coach Kgoloko Thobejane believes that his troops will not succumb to the National First Division when the 2016/17 season reaches its climax this month.

Bakgakga came from two goals down and snatched a valuable point in a 2-all stalemate against Mamelodi Sundowns at the Lucas Moripe stadium on Wednesday much to the delights of Thobejane.

Mzwanele Mahashe and Richard Matloga scored for the Polokwane based side while Khama Billiat and Mahashe’s own goal were key for the Brazilians on the night.

A draw for the Brazilians denied them an opportunity to leapfrog Bidvest Wits at the log summit after the Clever Boys suffered a shocking 3-1 loss to Free State Stars.

“A half of bread is far much better than nothing. A point is more valuable to us,” said Thobejane.

“We will survive this battle. Next season we’ll still be competing in the Premier Soccer League.

“I have no doubt about that.”

Baroka will travel to the Princess Magogo Stadium to face Golden Arrows on Saturday while Sundowns faces Maritzburg United at home on Wednesday next week.
