Cape Town - SuperSport United head coach Kaitano Tembo believes the addition of Uganda international midfielder Moses Waiswa will strengthen the squad and intensify competition for places.
Uganda Premier League top scorers Vipers FC announced in July last year that the 22-year-old attacking midfielder would be joining SuperSport on a free transfer in January 2020.
Waiswa won the 2017/18 Uganda Premier League and 2018 FUFA player of the year award and Tembo is delighted with the acquisition.
"He is a national team player, Moses Waiswa, attacking midfielder and very creative," the SuperSport boss told KickOff.
"He will also add more competition in the team. He is 22 years old, still young.
"He is going to add competition so that we can improve as a team. We can only improve as a team when players are fighting for positions."
SuperSport were held to a 2-2 by Maritzburg United at Lucas Moripe Stadium on Wednesday, having beaten Absa Premiership log leaders Kaizer Chiefs 2-1 on Saturday.
