Tau not thinking about Bafana call-up

Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns attacking midfielder Percy Tau insists that his mind is not preoccupied with receiving a call-up to Bafana Bafana.

The 22 year-old has been in scintillating form for Sundowns this season and played a crucial role in their CAF Champions League triumph.

Tau has also been unstoppable in the Premiership for the Brazilians, who are playing catch-up following their African exploits, and have moved up to eighth on the table with 13 points from six games.

In the 5-0 win over Highlands Park on Sunday, Tau scored one goal and provided three assists.

"I can't rush it. I still look at my game and still there are a few things to improve," Tau told KickOff.

"I don't want to put myself under any pressure, there are still a lot of things to improve in my game. I will get better at the international level."

He added: "Also, competing in CAF gave me that international level experience and I will get better. The time will come for me to play for Bafana Bafana."

Tau will be in action when Sundowns face Ajax Cape Town on Wednesday evening.

Kick off is at 19:30.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
