Take it on a chin, says Fadlu Davids

Cape Town - Maritzburg United head coach Fadlu Davids says his side will learn from their second leg 2-0 defeat against SuperSport United in the MTN8 semi-final.

The Team of Choice put up a spirited performance despite being reduced to ten-men in the second-half but Davids claims it was his sides worst performance of the new season.

A 3-1 aggregate scoreline thanks to Jeremy Brockie's brace at the Harry Gwala Stadium denied the rookie manager and his club their first ever domestic cup final.

"SuperSport deserves to win this match. This is definitely one of our poor games this season. We have young players, the occasion perhaps got to them," he said after the game.

"What we have to do is to take it on a chin, learn from it and live to fight another day.

"In the first half had we scored one or two of our early chances... but SuperSport got the goal first. They're so experienced, they're smart. It's lessons from our players. We have to learn from this.

"The most important thing is to take steps from this. To grow as a team and of course (in future) we can handle this situations better."
