SuperSport working hard to implement Baxter tactics

Johannesburg - Reneilwe Letsholonyane says SuperSport United players are striving hard to implement head coach Stuart Baxter's tactics.

The former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder played an instrumental role in guiding the Pretoria based outfit to an emphatic 6-1 win over the struggling Orlando Pirates in an Absa premiership clash at the Mbombela Stadium on Tuesday.

Letsholonyane, 34, admits that playing defensive football is part of their game plan as they will always look to profit from counter attacks.

"We are working hard to understand what the coach wants," comments Letsholonyane.

"And the most important thing is we are working as a team even if we are not playing the way we want to play.

"Playing defensive football is still part of our game plans and we try hard to defend our goals.

"But when we start getting chances from counter attacks we do our best to put the ball in the net."

SuperSport will switch their focus to the upcoming Pretoria derby clash against Mamelodi Sundowns in the Telkom Knockout quarter-finals at the Lucas Moripe Stadiumon Saturday.

Kick off is at 18:00.
