Cape Town - SuperSport United want to retain the services of winger Mandla Masango, who is currently on loan from Danish Superliga side Randers.
Masango spent last season with Matsatsantsa where he featured in 17 matches and scored four goals. Former United coach Stuart Baxter, who took over the reins of Bafana Bafana, brought the 27-year-old to the club after earlier working with him at Kaizer Chiefs.
Despite Baxter's departure, the Tshwane giants want him to stay although financial obligations could be a stumbling block.
"We can't decide to keep him," SuperSport chief executive Stan Matthews told the SowetanLIVE website.
"We have to talk to his club, which we will do after the Nedbank Cup final (against Orlando Pirates on June 24).
"We would like to keep him but it's all finance dependent."
Masango still has 12 months to run on his three-year deal in Denmark, although he will seemingly be open to staying in South Africa after falling out with Hestene management.
The souring of the relationship reportedly stems from the club not allowing him to join Danish rivals Aalborg.
