SuperSport trio off to Holland

Cape Town - SuperSport United will be sending three of their players from their youth academy on trial to Dutch club PEC Zwolle.

The three players in question are Nelson Maluleke, Safwan Hendriks and Jake Aresti.

Maluleke, an attacking midfielder, is the national Under-17 skipper. Hendriks, a winger, and Aresti, another attacking midfielder, are all still only 15-years-old.

They will be in Holland from 30 November to 12 December.

"This is pivotal in the next stage of development," academy manager Giancarlo Ballossini told the club’s website.

"Phumelela help us scout and develop these players now it’s up to us to expose them onto the world’s leading stages.

"Overseas travel serves both an educational purpose as well as the players can assess for themselves the level of opposition and where they need to be and what deficiencies to work on.

"This will be the first of many overseas tours for Academy players and acts as a motivation for other academy players as well."

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
