Cape Town - SuperSport
United captain Dean Furman feels the club's recent success can
transcend into the South Africa national team ahead of their crunch 2018
World Cup qualifiers.
Bafana Bafana can book their place to Russia if they overcome Senegal in back-to-back home and away fixtures, and Furman admits Matsatsantsa's run to the CAF Confederation Cup final can inspire the nation.
Eric Tinkler's side reached their maiden CAF final after an impressive 3-1 victory over Tunisian giants Club Africain on Saturday evening saw them advance 4-2 on aggregate to set up a final date with TP Mazembe next month.
"Reaching the Confederation Cup final is a great achievement, not only for SuperSport but for the country and Bafana as well," Furman told reporters.
"When we face Senegal we will go into the match confident that we can pull off a miracle and win both matches against them."
SuperSport though first have a trip to the Dr Molemela Stadium to face Bloemfontein Celtic in a Telkom Knockout round of 16 clash on Saturday.
Kick off is at 18:00.
