SuperSport set to poach Mnyamane

Cape Town - Platinum Stars may lose out on signing University of Pretoria forward Thabo Mnyamane after it emerged SuperSport United have made a better offer.

Mnyamane has been one of the University of Pretoria's leading lights over the last few seasons, his form recognised with a couple of calls up to the national team.

Following AmaTuks' relegation, it appeared that Mnyamane was set to sign for Platinum Stars.

However, it has emerged that SuperSport are also in the race for the number 10's signature.

"Mnyamane did agree terms with Platinum Stars but was still yet to sign on the dotted line," a source told KickOff.

"SuperSport United have since come up with a better offer. An announcement will be made soon."

Mnyamane's agent Mandla Mthembu meanwhile confirmed that his player is close to signing for a new club, but would not divulge the name of the team.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
