SuperSport look to break into the top 8

Cape Town - University of Pretoria will look to end their winless streak in the Absa Premiership when they host SuperSport United at Tuks Stadium.

Tuks saw their winless run extended to eight matches when they drew 1-1 at Free State Stars on December 13.

The Tshwane side has claimed three points from five home matches this season.

AmaTuks are placed 15th on the Absa Premiership log with six points from 10 matches.

SuperSport claimed their third win of the season and extended their unbeaten run to four matches with a 1-0 win at Ajax Cape Town on November 21.

The Tshwane side has claimed eight points from five away matches.

Matsatsantsa are placed ninth on the Absa Premiership log with 13 points from 11 matches.

In head-to-head stats, Tuks and SuperSport have met in six league matches since 2012/13.

Matsatsantsa have an unbeaten record in the rivalry, with five wins and one draw.

Tuks have recorded one draw and two defeats from their three home matches against SuperSport.

Last season United recorded a league ‘double’ over their neighbours, winning 3-0 away and 2-0 at home.

AmaTuks have yet to score a goal against SuperSport, going 540 minutes without finding the net in the teams’ six matches.

Kick-off is at 15:30 Sunday, December 20.
