SuperSport close in on Bafana striker

Cape Town - SuperSport United look set to sign Bafana Bafana international forward Jamie Webber once the transfer window re-opens next month.

After being spotted training with the CAF Confederation Cup runners-up this week, the club revealed negotiations are underway with the teenager's representatives.

After starring in the National First Division for the Cape Winelands based side, the 19-year-old was fast-tracked into the senior national team set-up by head coach Stuart Baxter for the COSAFA Cup last year.

"Talks are at an advanced stage for him to possibly join in with us in the January transfer window, and Stellensbosch has given him permission to come and train with us for Eric to have a look at him," SuperSport CEO Stan Matthews told Soccer Laduma.

His potential arrival sees Matsatsansa continue their recent trend of signing the countries brightest prospects with Fagrie Lakay, Teboho Mokoena, Sipho Mbule and more recently Dylan Stoffels all joining after impressing with the national youth teams.
