SuperSport announce two new signings

Cape Town - SuperSport United coach Eric Tinkler has two more options at his disposal with the arrival of Siyabonga Nhlapo and Prince Dube at the Premiership club.

Nhlapo ends a three-year spell with Bidvest Wits, having played a part in their maiden title-winning campaign, although he spent the second half of last season on loan at Highlands Park.

The 28-year-old defender joins the back-to-back Nedbank Cup winners on a long-term deal until 2020 and will provide competition for Grant Kekana at right-back.

Meanwhile, Dube makes the big move to South Africa from Highlanders after impressing for Zimbabwe at the COSAFA Cup recently - a competition they won for a record fifth time.

Matsatsantsa CEO Stan Matthews revealed the 21-year-old striker is seen as one for the future, after being handed a contract until 2021.

"Siya (Nhlapo) is a player whom we have been watching for a few seasons now," Matthews said on the club's official Facebook page.

"He has represented Bafana Bafana, having been called up by each of the last three national-team coaches (Gordon Igesund, Shakes Mashaba and Stuart Baxter).

"We have watched how well he did at Bidvest Wits, playing a major role in their third and second-placed finishes in the 2014/15 and 2015/16 seasons, and with Grant Kekana doing so well in our last few games last season we look forward to the contest for the right-back spot.

"Prince is a longer-term play for us. He has good technique, pace and skill and can play both centrally and wide.

"He may not be displacing (Jeremy) Brockie or (Bradley) Grobler this season but he has the makings of a top attacking player and we look forward to seeing how Eric progresses with him moving forward."

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
