SuperSport aim to beat Mounana without Baxter

Cape Town - SuperSport United will be targeting their first win in Group D of the CAF Confederation Cup when they travel to Libreville in Gabon to take on FC Mounana on Tuesday.

Matsatsantsa have enjoyed a good run of form in recent weeks, winning four of their last seven games.

They beat Absa Premiership champions Bidvest Wits, as well as Polokwane City and Cape Town City before losing their last fixture 3-0 at Chippa United on Wednesday.

The Tshwane giants drew their first group clash 2-2 at home against Horoya earlier this month. Keegan Ritchie and Thuso Phala were on target for the home side, but Ebele and Baffour scored for the travelers.

SuperSport boss Stuart Baxter will not travel with the team due to his Bafana Bafana commitments, after recently being appointed head coach of the South Africa national team.

Meanwhile, Mounana go into the tie having drawn their last game 1-1 at FC 105, following a 2-0 defeat at TP Mazembe.

They did, however, win three games on the trot prior to the loss. Mounana are at the top of the Championnat D1 table after 19 games.

Kick-off is at 14:00 (SA time).
