Cape Town - Motsepe Foundation representative Sizwe Nzimande has confirmed that Wednesday's Mandela Centenary Cup match between Mamelodi Sundowns and Barcelona will be televised on SABC and SuperSport.
The rather hastily organised match is set to kick-off at 18:15 at the FNB Stadium, with the earlier-than-usual starting due to an agreement with FIFA.
The world governing body sanctioned that the game could go ahead as long as it did not clash with the Europa League final between Atletico Madrid and Marseille which kicks off at 20:45.
Nonetheless, the encounter between the Brazilians and Barcelona will be available to all South Africans who have access to the national broadcaster's telecast.
Nzimande also told reporters that extra security had been procured for the sold out clash.
"We have been involved in a series of meetings with Stadium Management‚ planning for the safety of the fans before‚ during and after the game. So far everything is going according to plan.
"We have invested a little bit more on security to ensure there is a high level of safety. We starting with the security component far from the perimeters of the stadium to unsure that fans are directed to all the gates we have in the stadium."
