Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns showed their class as they destroyed Black Leopards 3-0 in Wednesday's Absa Premiership clash at Loftus Versfeld Stadium.
The action was end-to-end but Sundowns came close to the opener as Anthony Laffor found space to lob goalkeeper King Ndlovu, before Jean Munganga headed clear off the line.
Themba Zwane had a great chance to open the scoring after a sublime pass from Gaston Sirino, but struck the top of the woodwork when anything on target probably would have been a goal.
Sundowns were purring playing some unbelievable attacking football at times and after a stunning team move, Lebohang Maboe somehow blazed over from close range.
Leopards were all over the place defensively and they were 2-0 behind after the break.
Maboe broke into space on the right-hand side before Khomotso Masia turned the ball into his own net off the crossbar.
It was largely one way traffic in the second stanza as the Brazilians poured forwards against a porous looking Lidoda Duvha defence.
Toward the end of the contest inside the last 10 minutes, Downs were awarded a penalty as Pentjie Zulu clearly used a hand to deny a goal-bound strike.
Ricardo Nascimento showed his superb finishing from the spot as he struck home the third goal with five minutes to play.
