Sundowns release 2019/20 'under the African sun' kit

Cape Town - Sports company PUMA have launched the Mamelodi Sundowns new 2019/20 kit.

The Under African Sun Home and Away kit, with radiant and elegant designs, takes inspiration from the blazing African Sun which beats down on the stadiums where these stars rock our world.

"PUMA’s long-term relationship with Mamelodi Sundowns continues to thrive both on and off the pitch, and we believe the vibrant new Home and Away kit will resonate with fans – both for the replica kit and fan wear," says PUMA South Africa Marketing Director Brett Bellinger.

In addition to the blazing African Sun, PUMA puts the fan culture at the heart of the 2019/20 campaign with short videos featuring live gig-style posters of Mamelodi Sundowns players wearing the new Home and Away kits, accompanied by background beats. “Playing football in a stadium is like performing live on stage at a music concert, with both sets of performers feeding on the energy from the chanting crowd,” adds Bellinger.

“Our footballers continue to shine under the partnership with PUMA and we are delighted that the design of the new Home and Away kit is inspired by the sun which fuels Africa,” said Mamelodi Sundowns spokesperson Alex Shakoane.

The jersey features PUMA’s dryCELL technology, a moisture-controlling technology that is incorporated into the material to draw sweat away from the skin to the surface, ensuring a dry interface on the body even during strenuous exercise.

The home shirt, retailing for R799, will be available at PUMA stores, Totalsports, The Cross Trainer, Sportsmans Warehouse, Studio 88 and selected retailers from Friday, August 2.
