Sundowns receive big-money Tau offers

Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns have received two big-money offers for the services of mercurial attacker Percy Tau, according to the SowetanLive website.

Russian side FC Rostov have tabled a huge R18 million bid while Danish side FC Midtjylland have also submitted an undisclosed written offer for the player's services.

The 23-year-old has been in scintillating form in the Absa Premiership this season scoring 7 goals with 6 assists and has been attracting attention from teams across Europe.

Coach Pitso Mosimane has already commented on the reported interest in Tau stating that he believes the player belongs in Europe but that it is too early for him to move abroad.

The former Witbank Spurs player's representative Mmatssatsi Sefalafala confirmed that there had been offers but that it was up to Masandawana to decide whether to cash on on the player - who has 18 months left on his contract.

"It's a 50/50 situation. I don't know if Sundowns would defer them to the end of the season, or allow him to go," she said.

"But Percy has a contract with Sundowns and he's still committed to the cause. He will respect whatever decision they make."

Sundowns next face second place Cape Town City in a top-of-the-table clash at Athlone Stadium on Friday with Benni McCarthy's men hoping to narrow the gap to one point.

Kick-off is at 20:00.
