Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns moved to the top of the Absa Premiership standings after beating SuperSport United 2-0 at Lucas Moripe Stadium on Saturday night.

As it happened: Sundowns v SuperSport United

Goals either side of half-time by Hlompho Kekana (42nd minute) and Leonardo Castro (46th minute) were enough to hand Pitso Mosimane's charges victory.

Sundowns dominated possession and always looked the more likely to score throughout.

There were some intriguing scenes in the last 20 minutes as the 'Downs bench sent a couple of notes to the players on the field, the last of which was confiscated by the referee.

But the win sees Sundowns move past Wits to the top of the standings, while SuperSport are in 10th position.
