Pretoria - Mamelodi Sundowns defender Thabo Nthethe admits that the Brazilians are on a mission to clinch their 7th Absa Premiership title following their 2-1 triumph over Orlando Pirates.

The Chloorkop side continued with their impressive form when they piled more miseries on the Buccaneers at the Orlando Stadium courtesy of the inform Khama Billiat and Leonardo Castro strikes.

"As a team we did very well and we do have a mission to accomplish," said Nthethe of the game.

"The season is still a long way to go but we’ll accomplish our mission of winning the league. But we are happy and excited because we managed to win against Pirates on Wednesday away from home.

"We had to stick to our game plan because we knew that Pirates would come at us especially in the second-half. We didn’t allow them to play inside our final third because that’s where they would have hurt us most.

"I think we really deserved to win the game and we did at the end of the day.”

With eleven games to go, the Brazilians are sitting comfortably at the log summit leading second placed, Bidvest Wits, by nine points.

Their next PSL assignment will be at home against Lamontville Golden Arrows on February 20.
