Sundowns deny interest in Urban Warriors' Prince

Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns' spokesperson Thulani Thuswa has denied the Absa Premiership leaders have initiated talks with Ajax Cape Town striker Prince Nxumalo.

After sanctioning the sale of Leonardo Castro to Kaizer Chiefs, the 2016 CAF Champions League winners have been on the look-out for a new attacking option.

On-loan Bidvest Wits striker Amr Gamal has been touted as a potential signing at the end of the season when his loan deal with Al Ahly comes to an end, but local media have suggested Nxumalo is manager Pitso Mosimane's preferred target.

At 27, the former SuperSport forward is about to enter his peak years and with 21 goals in 56 games for the Urban Warriors, the South Africa international would be a promising addition to the Brazilians attack.

However, Thuswa denied the rumours which surfacedon Friday, saying, "I don't know anything about what you are asking me about.

"That is news to me, to be honest."
