Sundowns defeat leaves Hunt feeling 'disappointed'

Cape Town - Wits head coach Gavin Hunt did not hide his disappointment after his side suffered a 2-0 defeat against Mamelodi Sundowns.

The defeat leaves the Students lagging in 15th place in the Absa Premiership standings having played 10 games (two wins, six defeats and two draws).

“I am disappointed,” said Hunt as quoted by the Soccer Laduma website.

“We are struggling with numbers, we don’t have legs.

“The first goal goes in and you try and chase the game and create opportunities again, but you leave yourself exposed at the back.”

Hunt did however give credit to Sundowns for claiming the all important win.

Khama Billiat was introduced into the match as he came off the substitute’s bench to inspire the Chloorkop side.

“At the end of the day, it is just not good enough,” Hunt said.

“You can’t make mistakes like that like we did for the goals.

“You have to give Sundowns credit. They have the quality in the final third.

“They hang up there, they play off the break.”

Wits travel to the Harry Gwala Stadium for their next Absa Premiership assignment on Saturday against Maritzburg United.

Kick-off is at 19:30.
