Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns have bolstered their squad for the second half of the Premiership campaign with the acquisition of Algerian defender Fares Hachi.

The 26-year-old has signed a four-year deal with Masandawana after initially impressing the Brazilians' technical team in a CAF Champions League encounter for former side ES Setif.

Hachi, spent the majority of his career plying his trade in the lower leagues in France prior to making his return to Algeria in 2015 for a year-long stint with Setif.

Mosimane spoke of his admiration for the left-back, who is in contention for a starting-berth when the Brazilians resume their bid to retain their league title on Wednesday night.

"We like him," the former Bafana Bafana coach told the club's website.

"We like the player, and what is important is that he also wants to play here (in South Africa) and wants to play CAF football," he concluded.

Sundowns face Celtic at the Dr Molemela Stadium at 19h30.
