Sundowns can boss SA football for years

Mamelodi Sundowns legend Themba Mnguni believes the Chloorkop side have the potential to dominate the South African football scene for years to come.

Masandawana consolidated their technical team by tying down head coach Pitso Mosimane to a new four-year contract this week, while also promoting former Barcelona captain Jose Ramon Alexanko to head of the technical department.

Mnguni is convinced this bodes extremely well for Sundowns, who have collected nine trophies under the guidance of Mosimane since he took over the reins in 2012.

"I think Mamelodi Sundowns has set the standard high, they've now a huge team under Dr Patrice Motsepe," Mnguni told KickOff.

"They will still dominate for years, they have a great technical team and players.

"They've assembled the best team, so I don't think any team in South Africa will have it easy to compete against them."
