Stronger and faster Ferreira keen for PSL return

Eduardo Ferreira says he is eager to return to the Premier Soccer League as he continues his search for a new club.

The former Ajax Cape Town and Mamelodi Sundowns centre-back is now 38-years-old and has been without a club since leaving Indian I-League side Neroca FC.

After departing the PSL, Ferreira played for a number of clubs in a host of different countries including CD America in Colombia, Thailand team Ratchaburi FC, Brazilian side Clube de Regatas, Mpumalanga Black Aces and a number of Indian sides.

The Brazilian-born former Equatorial Guinea international told Soccer Laduma: "I am looking for a move back to the PSL but I don’t know if clubs will give me a chance again.

"I am more experienced now, and yes I am 36 years old but I tell you I play much better than before and with a lot of speed in my game."

He added "In the past, and as a young player, you know youngsters like going out and to parties and things like that. You don’t save your energy and things like that. Since I turned 30 I started training extra, and I sleep early and all those things.

"At my previous team last season my wife was telling me that I play much better than ever before. She was like, 'Eduardo, you play nicer now than before, I see you are running a lot on the field and you are stronger.'

"I have some Ajax Cape Town fans still calling me and asking me to come back to the club. They say they will talk to the boss of the team. I told them I don't know if the boss will want that. But if he can call me and ask me to come back, why not? It’s not about the money now, it’s about playing. I have already made the money and I am happy."
