Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns sensation Percy Tau is the deadliest individual attacking force in South African football in 2016/17 when it comes to scoring goals and tallying assists.

The 22-year-old has had a hand in 15 goals for the Brazilians in all competitions, with seven goals and eight assists to his name.

Orlando Pirates striker Tendai Ndoro leads the goalscoring charts with 12 strikes, but it is Tau who dominates as a creator and a scorer.

Cape Town City's Aubrey Ngoma, Highlands Park's Franklin Cale and Ndumiso Mabena of Platinum Stars share second place with six assists each. Pirates' Luvuyo Memela is in third with five assists.

Meanwhile, Memela's teammate Mpho Makola has four assists - a total he he shares with Bidvest Wits' Daine Klate, Polokwane City's Jabu Maluleke and SuperSport United's Jeremy Brockie and Thuso Phala.

Tau's teammate at Chloorkop, Khama Billiat, has two assists and five goals, while Kaizer Chiefs duo Siphiwe Tshabalala and George Lebese have a pair of assists-a-piece so far this season.

Nonetheless, Tau, who scored Masandawana's only goal at the FIFA Club World Cup in Japan, is proving to be the most outstanding attacking talent in Mzansi up to now in 2016/17.

The player is expected to have a huge role to play as Downs get their Premiership campaign back under way in February against Bloemfontein Celtic.
