Giovanni Solinas (TEAMtalk)

Cape Town - Free State Stars expect to appoint a new coach next week after Giovanni Solinas left the club at the end of last season.

Stars media officer Nkosana Mashinini confirmed that club officials have been hard at work searching for a suitable candidate.

Ea Lla Koto had three coaching changes last term with Kinnah Phiri, Ernst Middendorp and now Solinas having come and gone.

"The club is still searching [for a new coach]. I think it will be confirmed by next week. It is only a matter of time," Mashinini told KickOff.

"I am sure the new coach will still want to assess the old players."
