Cape Town - Platinum Stars thrashed Bloemfontein Celtic 3-0 at the Dr Petrus Molemela Stadium in the Premier Soccer League on Saturday.

Dikwena raced into the lead just seven minutes into the encounter. Junior Phiri lashed home a direct free-kick from just outside the box to put the away team ahead.

One soon became two a couple minutes later as Phiri once again stepped up and the Malawian found the net with another sublime effort.

Siwelele threatened the goal five minutes later as they looked for a way back into the game. Dumisani Zuma was played in by Deon Hotto but Zuma had a tame shot at goal

Cavin Johnson's men killed off the game fifteen minutes from time as Bongi Ntuli finished off a clever ball from Ryan De Jongh to claim all three points and a valuable clean sheet for the away team.
