Cape Town - Milutin Sredojevic has denied reports that he has agreed to coach Egyptian giants Zamalek, saying that he will be back in his home country of Serbia to take care of his ill mother.

Sredojevic sensationally resigned as Orlando Pirates head coach late on Friday with Zamalek chairperson Mortada Mansour quoted as saying on a TV channel that the Serbian will be club's new coach.

However, Sredojevic has shot down the claims of Mansour and said if the Egyptian giants really want him they would have to "fork out millions".

In quotes published on Times Live, Sredojevic said: "That report is total nonsense.

"I am travelling to see my mother who is sick in Serbia. And we shall see what will come after that. (Whether) I will come back to Africa.

"But if he (Mansour) really wants me he needs to fork out millions.

"The moment (after) Pirates announced I have resigned (I travelled). I am now in Istanbul flying to my country.

"That is total nonsense about the other guy (Mansour). How is it mathematically possible to do the things in that way?

"He has been begging me to come to his team and whatever. Maybe I will even go. "But the point is I have not signed anything. I have not agreed anything."

Sredojevic leaves Pirates having been in charge for three games this season.

They started with a 3-1 home win against Bloemfontein Celtic in the Absa Premiership then lost 1-0 in the first leg of their CAF Champions League preliminary-round tie against Green Eagles in Zambia last Saturday.

Sredojevic’s final game at the helm was a heavy 3-0 defeat against Supersport United on Wednesday.

Orlando Pirates have confirmed that Rhulani Mokwena would assume coaching responsibilities for the MTN 8 encounter against Highlands Park on Saturday and will be assisted by Fadlu Davids and Franck Plaine.
