Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs coach Giovanni Solinas has admitted that Amakhosi's stuttering start to the season hasn't been good enough given their desire to challenge for trophies.
The Glamour Boys were breath-taking in their 3-0 MTN8 quarter-final win over Free State Stars, but have yet to pick up an Absa Premiership win after four games - three of which have been drawn and one lost.
"We need more consistency because Kaizer Chiefs is a big club, so we need to be consistent with our results," said Solinas, according to Kickoff.
"We are competing to win the league so we need more consistency, yes. Up and down, up and down is no good for Kaizer Chiefs because it's a big club with big history.
"If we are going to compete for trophies, then yes, we do need more consistency."
Amakhosi will next face SuperSport United in the first leg of their MTN8 semi-final tie, which is set to kick off at 15h00 at the Lucas Moripe Stadium on Sunday.
