Solinas thinking positively about his Chiefs future

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs coach Giovanni Solinas says he is remaining upbeat about his future at the club despite rumours suggesting that Muhsin Ertugral could be lined up as his replacement.

Chiefs have had a mixed start to 2018/19 campaign having been eliminated from the MTN8 and are currently in fifth place in the Absa Premiership, five points behind leaders Orlando Pirates.

The Glamour are set to face the Sea Robbers in the second Soweto derby of the season in Saturday when the two sides meet in a keenly-anticipated Telkom Knockout semi-final at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban.

Nonetheless, despite the club having won just once in their last five league encounters, Solinas is remaining optimistic when asked about his future at Naturena.

He told reporters: "I don't know why you talk negative. Sincerely, I don't know how to reply to this question. I only think positive.

"Because, if I think negative, I can't help my players or my club. So, I think positive. After the Derby, I don't know...I don't know [what will happen]."

Amakhosi have been linked with Ertugral who recently resigned from struggling Ajax Cape Town in the National First Division. The Turk has been in charge at Chiefs on two previous occasions.
