Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs coach Giovanni Solinas was left frustrated after Polokwane City upset the Glamour Boys 1-0 at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday.

After the match, the Italian coach's assessment was that his team paid for a poor first half, which saw Rise and Shine take the lead through Vusimuzi Mngomezulu in stoppage time.

Solinas claimed that after the goal, City made no attempt to get forward, making it difficult for his side to play.

"Disappointed for the first half, [not the second]," Solinas. told SuperSport.

"In the second half, the guys played well. In the first half, no. [There was] no mobility, no movement.

"We didn't understand the manner [in which] they attacked... no clear idea. By the second half, the guys performed.

"They led 1-0, they stayed back and didn't create chances - only [the one] to score, but this is a football game. This situation can happen.

"In the second half, in my opinion, the performance was positive. It's not easy to play the second-half in this manner because they [all stayed] behind the ball. The space was very tight.

"But the guys in the second half played football. It's a pity. Congratulations to Polokwane City. We move forward, we continue to work hard. This is life, this is football."

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
