Solinas: Players understand my methods

Giovanni Solinas (TEAMtalk)

Cape Town - Free State Stars coach Giovanni Solinas is pleased with his team's progress since taking over at the Premiership club in December.

Solinas has brought stability to the Bethlehem outfit, who were struggling when he was appointed to replace Ernst Middendorp at the end of last year.

Ea Lla Koto are on course for a top-eight finish in the league and have a Nedbank Cup quarter-final against Bidvest Wits on April 23.

"The team now understands the system they play. The players now have a clear idea how I want the team to play," Solinas told KickOff.

"Every game we play, we try to win, we try to play good football. I ask players to play free, play good football."

The 48-year-old says that he is proud of his players but they have to continue to work to improve the situation at Stars.

He added that winning the Nedbank Cup is a "dream" but is aware of the threat that Bidvest Wits pose.

"It's a tough game for us, but we will try... this is a dream for the club, the players and the technical team. We will try to give our best to win the trophy."
