Gustavo Paez and Philani Zulu netted the two goals to hand Amakhosi their second win in a row for the first time this season.

The Italian mentor stated that it is important for his team to maintain their standards going forward, having clinched a 4-1 victory over Cape Town City at the weekend.

"We played well I'm happy for the result. It's a pity for Free State Stars because it is my former team," Solinas told SuperSport.

"But this is football you know I'm happy because my boys played well.

"In this game we needed to refresh the team. Give everyone a chance. Everyone performed well. Great performance, we need to continue working hard and improve.

"Tomorrow we'll have regeneration training and only the players who did not play (against Free State Stars) will train. We need rest to recover and after that we play AmaZulu. It's a very important game for us we're playing at home we need the three points.

"We need to continue improving in our philosophy. We need to focus on our job. We are Kaizer Chiefs, don't forget, a big club. The expectation is very high, it's not possible to disappoint our fans. Our fans are unbelievable and deserve a good team. We put the effort to make our fans happy."
