Solinas: Chiefs are fighting to make the fans happy

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs coach Giovanni Solinas says everyone involved at the club is making a massive effort in order to bring success in the future.

Solinas took charge of his first match for the Glamour Boys on Saturday when Chiefs played to a 1-1 draw with champions Mamelodi Sundowns.

Amakhosi produced a good performance and were perhaps unfortunate not to come away with all three points in the final reckoning.

Nonetheless, the Italian is grateful to the attitude his players are showing at training and is hopeful of ending a barren three seasons without a trophy.

Speaking to the Sowetan, he said: "We are three seasons without a trophy and I know the fans want to win trophies, but we need time.

"We are fighting to make our fans happy and me, I work hard from the morning to the night every day to make our fans happy.

"So far I'm happy because the reaction of my boys in the training session is unbelievable. I want to thank my players for the effort they put in every day at training.

"Me, I don't feel under pressure. I'm comfortable. I like the pressure because for me in football pressure is normal. You need to accept and manage the pressure.

"Pressure makes me motivated and I know we are a big club."

Chiefs are set to take on Bidvest Wits in their next Premiership outing on Tuesday at the FNB Stadium from 19:30.
