Slovakia move in the works for Scott

Cape Town - Ajax Cape Town midfielder Granwald Scott should complete his move to Slovan Bratislava in the next 24 hours.

The 28-year-old enjoyed a successful 10-day trial at the Slovakian side, who are keen to bring him on board in this transfer window.

The deal is almost done according to the player’s agent, Mike Makaab, and he is expecting good news soon.

“We are hoping to finalise in the next 24 hours. Slovan Bratislava are very excited about Granwald and it is just about putting the final bits and pieces together,” Makaab told supersport.com.

“So unless something untoward happens then the deal will be done very shortly.”

Ajax have already said they will try and smooth the transfer for Scott, who has been a loyal servant of the club for the past 16 years.

“We believe that if there is an opportunity for a player then we should not stand in his way, especially an overseas opportunity like this,” De Sa said recently.

“Scotty has been at the club since the age of 12 and I think you need to respect that. He has a long contract with the club. I had a good chat with him and he said to me he would love to have a go.

“This opportunity came up and how do you stop a guy from having a go. If an opportunity for you [the media] came to work for Sky TV in England, you would like the door to be open.

“If the opportunity came to me to go to Barcelona or wherever, I would like the door to be open too.”

Scott made his PSL debut in the 2004/05 season and has been a one-club man in what is not his 12th season with Ajax.
