Siyabonga Nomvethe: 40 not out and going strong

Cape Town - Siyabonga Nomvethe, the Absa Premiership's all-time leading goal scorer, turned 40-years-old on Saturday.

Currently playing his football with AmaZulu in the PSL, Nomvethe has played for African Wanderers, Kaizer Chiefs, Udinese, Orlando Pirates, Moroka Swallows and AmaZulu in a senior career that goes back to 1997.

Nomvethe already represented Bafana Bafana between 1999 and 2012.

Tributes for one of the greatest strikers South Africa has ever seen were pouring in on Saturday.

The 81-time capped South Africa international is still going strong for Usuthu in the South African top-flight and recently scored his 111th league goal to become the Premiership's all-time record scorer.

AmaZulu are currently ninth on the PSL table after 11 games.

TRIBUTES POUR IN FOR NOMVETHE:
