Cape Town - AmaZulu midfielder Siyethemba Sithebe has been handed the number 10 jersey of retired Usuthu legend Siyabonga Nomvethe.
'Bhele' hung up his boots last season after a stellar career in South Africa, Europe and for Bafana Bafana.
The legendary forward is the Premiership's all-time leading scorer and is considered one of the finest forwards ever produced locally.
Nonetheless, the 41-year-old says he is delighted to hand his number 10 to Sithebe, who has impressed in recent seasons.
He said: "Sithebe is a very dedicated, focused and disciplined player. I believe he has a bright future, which is the main reason I'm giving him this number."
The player expressed delight about being handed the shirt, saying: "It always been Bhele's dream to give me number 10, it's an honour for me and he told me to keep on working hard, stay disciplined.
"This is huge for me to get this number and I know it will not be easy to fill his shoes, I doubt I will ever do that, to be honest.
"I will just focus on my targets as a player, not thinking too much about his achievements."
