Cape Town - Wits winger Jabulani Shongwe has vowed to fight for a regular place in the club's first team after impressing in the Gauteng Champions of Champions Cup.
Shongwe was in action for Wits in the mini-tournament where he scored one goal and provided an assist in the 3-1 win over Highlands Park.
The 26-year-old has fallen down the pecking order with the Clever Boys this season and is yet to make an appearance in the Premiership.
"It was a great feeling to play. I miss being on the pitch and I hope I will get more game-time after these games," Shongwe told KickOff.
"We didn't speak that much after the game because there was a lot happening. I just have to keep working hard. Because to be honest, I want to play - that's all I want to do.
"I can't be happy sitting on the bench, but in order for me to play I have to work extra hard and listen to the coach."
Wits will face Platinum Stars at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium on Saturday.
Kick off is at 20:15.
