Shabba ready for Sundowns clash

Johannesburg - Ahead of their much anticipated clash against Mamelodi Sundowns this weekend, Kaizer Chiefs captain Siphiwe Tshabalala says the Phefeni Glamour Boys are ready to entertain the Brazilians with the goal of grabbing all three points.

Chiefs and Sundowns will renew their rivalry in their Absa Premiership encounter at the FNB Stadium on Saturday, January 9.

The Brazilians defeated Amakhosi in their last meeting when they triumphed 3-1 in the Telkom Knockout final in December last year, but Tshabalala hinted that his team-mates are ready to cause an upset.

“It’s going to be a new ball game and it’s a new year as well,” said Tshabalala.

“We are all fresh and focusing on our game with an objective to take the lead and win the game.

“It will be vital for us to grab all the maximum points on the day. So we are all ready for the game and it’s not going to be an easy one for sure.

“But it will be a tough one and I believe that each and every player wants to play against a tough team like Sundowns.

“Because that’s how our capabilities are measured in the game of football.”

Kick-off is scheduled for 20:15.
