Cape Town - Ahead of the weekend’s Soweto Derby, Orlando Pirates midfielder Issa Sarr has urged the club’s supporters to be patient with the team following their recent run of indifferent domestic form.
According to the club's official website, the Buccaneers will take on their Soweto rivals Kaizer Chiefs in the Absa Premiership at the FNB Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
With the Sea Robbers lying in 11th on the table after 14 rounds of PSL football, the Senegalese international has expressed the players’ displeasure at their recent performances but also intimated that they are working hard to climb the ladder.
“It’s not good to find ourselves in the bottom half of the table at this time of the season. I know that our supporters are frustrated but I’m pleading with them to be patient," said Sarr.
“They must be patient with the coach and the players because we are all working together to get the team out of this difficult situation and we are doing our best.
“We all know that Pirates is a big team and the fans expect the results every time we play, so we’ll continue fighting and we are going to make sure that we win the derby for them.
“They must just keep on supporting us because in times like this we really need them to rally behind us.”
Kick-off is at 15:30.
