Cape Town - Former striker Glen Salmon has agreed to join Orlando Pirates as their new reserve team head coach after parting ways with Wits recently.

The 41-year-old, who played his football both locally and abroad, will take over the reins from Michael Loftman.

Loftman oversaw the reserve team for the 2018/19 campaign and is now believed to have been promoted to the first-team setup as a performance analyst.

Salmon, meanwhile, was Wits' head of the academy and also coached the club's reserve team.

"Yes, I can confirm I have joined Orlando Pirates as the reserve team coach," Salmon told Goal.com.

"It is a huge opportunity for me. I am looking forward to working with young talented players at the club."

During a career that spanned 15 years, Salmon won two Premiership titles with SuperSport United and also represented the likes of FC Groningen and NAC Breda.
