Rulani Mokwena to join Chippa United as new head coach

Former Orlando Pirates assistant coach Rulani Mokwena is set to become the new head coach of fellow Absa Premiership side Chippa United, the Buccaneers announced on Wednesday.

"Orlando Pirates Football Club can confirm that assistant coach Rulani Mokwena has been seconded to join Absa Premiership outfit Chippa United," a statement said.

"Mokwena, who recently returned from an overseas trip which saw him visiting some European football clubs for a bench-marking exercise joins the Chilli Boys until the end of the season."

Pirates also confirmed that Mokwena will be joined by Michael Loftman as part of his technical team.

Mokwena took over the reigns at the Soweto giants after the sudden resignation of Milutin Sredojevic earlier in the season.

He was in charge for 14 games managing just four wins, five draws and five defeats in an underwhelming period for the club that soon saw the appointment of current coach Josef Zinnbauer.
